Joe has more than 14 years of experience across the healthcare, facility consulting, and military sectors, and his professional background lends him a unique perspective in solving the business issues in the healthcare industry. As a leader in ECG’s Activation and Transition Planning (ATP) practice, Joe has a deep understanding of the market challenges clients are facing and is well versed in developing comprehensive strategies to better position organizations for the future.
At ECG, Joe focuses on the intersection of strategy and facilities and helps clients identify the facility elements needed to execute current strategies while planning for forecast changes in market dynamics. Recently, Joe led the project management office for an academic organization building a new inpatient facility. His work included coordinating with the hospital’s leadership team, supervising multiple overlapping work streams, and the developing thorough best practice recommendations to build the operational, facility, and financial infrastructure necessary to ensure safe hospital operations upon opening. In addition, Joe worked as a key member of another firm’s ATP team for a newly constructed, 310 bed hospital on the West Coast. Joe led the creation of a detailed transition schedule and comprehensive patient move sequence. As a result of this planning, the client successfully navigated construction delays due to COVID‑19 and safely moved patients and opened the facility on a compressed timeline.
